The item price was $5.75, but shipping cost $9.95. Ridiculous, as the item was a package of tights about 4x6 inches. Plus they had no size chart, and it was the wrong size. I would not use this supplier again. The product was probably fine, but I couldn't rate it because it was way too large to be worn.I bought these for my 3 yr old to wear at dance class. She loved how soft they are, and I love that they are so thick. We got them in black so no problems with the color. I will definetly be buying more in the near future.Danskin's child professional quality footed tights now use new softer microfiber yarns, yet are as durable as ever. The improved gusset is dyed-to-match in CoolMax giving moisture management where you need it most. All tights are a final sale, no returns or exchanges except for defective merchandise.Rerations< Child Run Resistant Footed Tights - 58 > < Child's "Daisy" Ballet Slipper - 205C > < Child Short Sleeve Leotard - U6074CL > < Child Dansoft Ballet Slipper - S0205G > < Danskin Girls 2-6x Nylon Long Sleeve Leotard > freaks Adhesion : 18 oz/inMaximum Temperature : -20°F to + 176°FTensile Strength : 18 lbs/in.Elongation : 200%Total tape thickness : 7 mil.< Electrical Tape 3/4" x 66' UL/CSA several colors to choose from > < Apple Keyboard Kit > < Mah Jong Quest Expeditions > < You Don't Mess With the Zohan (Unrated Extended Single-Disc Edition) > < Gillette Mach3 Turbo Refill Cartridges, 8-Count Box > < Gathering Blue > price:$12.50 Tape Brothers Rainbow Pack is 10 colors (black, white, grey, red, brown, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple). It is full of great techniques. You can use it not only as a learning tool but also to have a great workout. I was suprise how much information it had.Since Mala wrote such a great detailed review I wont repeat but wanted to give my overall opinion. It's obvious that both Sadie and Kaya are great teachers and excellent dancers. And I like their personalities a lot. It's full of good instruction, however, I think I'd rather see Kaya and Sadie doing parts alone as opposed to both always together. At times it works, but at times it felt odd. Their performance at the end is stellar! They should put that choreo on an instructional dvd. I have no problem with the outfits but you can't see the hip movements at parts. But it's no biggie.I really like Sadie's Thrillin Drillin and the Taqsim dvd better. But still, I"m looking forward to the second part of this dvd and will defenitly plan to get it.This DVD is awesome. Sadie and Kaya are very easy to follow and understand. I would recommend this dvd to everyone. These two are excellent teachers, in class or on dvd. Not only are they extremely talented, they are beautiful and nice people too. ;)I don't suppose anyone in the world can dance quite like Sadie and Kaya do - but if you want even some of their skills, here they are, up for grabs on their workshop-on-a-disk, Pops Locks and Shimmies. In this power-packed instructional DVD, one of a series of two, I believe, they pretty much give away all their secrets. They take up the most controlled and precise movements that embellish belly dancing and they teach them to you with incredible clarity. They also get you to practice them, with well-conceptualized drills. The content is all unique and you won't find it elsewhere, except perhaps for some similar content in smaller chunks on Sadie's drum solo videos. But what is most unique and impressive of all on this video is the instructional format. The two dancers don't just stand there doing exactly the same thing (I've always found that phenomenally dumb). Instead, they use each other's presence to explain and demonstrate better, from every angle, from different aspects. This is so amazingly seamless and smoothly done that it seems like a choreography in itself! Sadie and Kaya do is to switch roles and positions constantly across the entire video so that one leads the section, while the other demonstrates. They don't just use a I-say-you-do format. You'll find Sadie showing you the range of motion while Kaya shows you the sharp, locked or popped move, Kaya showing you the front view and Sadie the back view. Or, Kaya executes the move while Sadie points and explains the precise muscle work going into the move - along with the safety tips. There isn't a moment of hesitation or confusion as they switch from one role or position to another almost every minute. Not a moment of "uh oh, you were to show this part" or " oh, okay why don't I show this move". I cannot say enough about how much this maximizes the instruction quality you get with what is a very difficult subject. There's bantering, no informality, no wasting time. Every moment is focused. If you ask me, the instruction aspect is definitely award worthy. But on to the content now. The menu is yummy. There are three pages of delicious stuff to click into. Broadly, the content is divided into upper body isolations, pelvic isolations, horizontal hip isolations, vertical hip isolations, and more vertical hip isolations. Each of these categories has instruction on the range of motion of the move, then pops, locks and shimmies with up to 3 drills. There's no warm up on this video, though you're advised to do one, specially as you'll be working with sharp moves. Let me describe one section, to give an idea of the feel of the instruction. Kaya leads the first section to show you the range of motion with the upper body isolations; shoulders, rib cage slides, lifts and drops. This is the firs time I've heard Kaya say anything and I must say, I do like her. She's just fine. Even at this stage, explanations are deep and thorough. At the same time they're not all talk but include getting you to try it along. She tells you where to feel the move in your body and how to make sure the technique is strong. Now that you have hopefully practiced the move and know the muscles and can be somewhat autopilot about it, Sadie comes in next to tell you how to add a lock to the move. She gets you to execute the locks through the upper body moves. Again, she keeps telling you what to look out for and what to feel. This is where they begin to show you different views, different aspects, and demonstrate the move in many ways. When they're done, we get to the first drill. Sadie takes up different upper body moves in a sequence. It includes movements along all planes and you begin with a smooth range of motion and go on to add locks. Of course, you then go double time. And then you add simple footwork. The footwork is simple only in the sense of not being all over the place and not being the focus. The not so simple is the fact that you're layering complex upper body moves on the footwork. For example, it's right-left-up, left-right forward on top of a marching footstep. Kaya comes in with a drill that notches up the difficulty level. Starting with the range of motion, again, you add locks in a combination on top of footwork - in this case, flat-ball-ball-ball. Not easy. But then, you also add arms. Kaya continues into the next section with pops, which she first explains thoroughly. You go through the technique and on to a drill in the same format - combination with footwork. This hardwires layering. Layering is taken up further in the final part of this section. This is where Sadie does things like shoulder shimmies with snake arms. I tried it out for a bit - it can happen.Sadie and Kaya follow this format through the whole video. Some of the specifi things you'll see on this video is the pelvic shimmy (which I hate), shimmy with twist, (swiveling shimmy), focus on glutes, focus on obliques, (sometimes together),¾ ups, ¾ downs and with variations. Nothing here is done plain vanilla. Every move is layered.Sadie and Kaya finish up with a drum solo performance in their signature style - seen on Belly Dance Live. But this time they're in leathery costumes that have upset many people. While it looks a little bit startling on the cover of the DVD, it isn't that bad inside. The performance is full of pops, locks and shimmies, of course, cascading and rippling all over the place.Tough question to answer: what level is this? In a sense, it's truly all levels. But whoever takes it up, has to be the serious-about-belly dancing type. All drilling, and specially of precise sharp movements, is going to need work. It can be intimidating for a beginner and altogether too much for someone who wants to dance casually. But given that you're willing to work at it, I would say that all levels will benefit. A beginner who's been at the basic isolations for a while could take these drills and work at the first level of difficulty. For example, you can being down the level of difficulty by ignoring the layering on footwork. Notch up to that more slowly. This is what gives this video a long "shelf life". You can use parts of it anytime in your dance journey.Interestingly, the content here does not overlap with Thrillin Drillin. The focus is different in any case, but so are all the drills. On Thrillin Drillin, layering itself is the target. Here, control over precise movements is what is aimed at and layering is brought in because it's very much part of this dance form and because it's the style of these two dancers. Learning these skills doesn't mean you have to take up the Sadie-Kaya dancing style - it just means you can bring in more controlled moves into your own dancing. This video is about two and a half hours long. Both this one and Thrillin Drillin are your hard wiring. Both are hard work as well. I'm sure they were quite tough to conceptualize. I spoke with someone who has attended the Pops Locks workshop and she felt the video probably gives a lot more. It's more focused and doesn't have to be changed around depending on who's attending the class or how many people there are, it's easier to see because you can look close up, and it's got two teachers weaving the instruction between them for maximum benefit.Based on their world-famous workshop series! SADIE and KAYA wow audiences all over with their Pops, Locks&Shimmies, and in this DVD they share the techniques and exercises they use to achieve those famous Pops, Locks&Shimmies. To prepare you to Pop, Lock&Shimmy at your best, SADIE and KAYA start with Range of Motion exercises designed to increase your flexibility, strength, and control. They then explain and demonstrate the technique for each Pop, Lock&Shimmy, including identifying which muscles to use and how to use weight changes to improve your execution and to dance safely. After you have the technique, SADIE and KAYA lead you through drills to practice and perfect your Pops, Locks&Shimmies. The drills start simple, then increase in complexity to combine Pops, Locks&Shimmies with the Grapevine, Pas das Bourre, Three-Quarter, and more... including turns! Now lets add a Shimmy to that! Because a Belly Dancer just has to shimmy, in each section, SADIE and KAYA show you how to layer Shimmies on those amazing Pops and Locks! SADIE and KAYA finish their instruction by leading you through a cool-down.Finally, a dynamic video performance duet by SADIE and KAYA including those famous Pops, Locks&Shimmies!Rerations< Pops Locks&Shimmies with Sadie and Kaya - Belly Dance DVD > < SADIE - Thrillin' Drillin' - Belly Dance DVD > < Sultry Slow Moves with Sadie Belly Dance DVD Video > < Sadie's Complete Bellydance Guide > < Bellydance - The Next Level: Transitions, Turns&Layers > freaks The Coolest Way to Get There Is with these Sporty Ballerina FlatsShown in Shimmery Pink with Bow Accent, Sweet Scalloped TrimGlitter DesignRound ToeElastic Strap ClosureRidged Tread Sole for Sure FootingCushioned Insole for Long-Term ComfortPolyurethane Uppers with Non-Marking Rubber Outsoles< Toddler Girls' Circo® Lanai Glitter Ballet Flats - Pink > < Toddler Girls' Disney Princess Glitter Shoes - Pink > < Tinker Bell > < Toddler Girls' Circo® Adelaide Glitter Ballet Shoes - Silver > < Sleeping Beauty (Two-Disc Platinum Edition + Standard DVD and BD Live) [Blu-ray] > < Toddler Girls' Circo® Aniyah Glitter Ballet Flats - Pink > price:$11.99 customer 's review(Great fit, sparkles don't last)(Perfect for special occassion or costume)(Love them/Hate them)(Cute but hard to slip on)The shoes themselves fit very well and are manufactured well. They fit my 4.5 year old great. She loves them so much that she has had them on her feet everyday for 2 weeks. The only problem with these shoes is that because they are loved and used the sparkles are coming off. It's nothing I didn't anticipate and since they are worn as play shoes we don't really care. They definitely aren't as pretty as the day we opened them, but it's okay.If you have seen the red ruby or silver slippers in Target, these are identical except they are pink. I bought them to match my 5-year-old daughter's ballerina costume for Halloween. They looked perfect (exactly as shown) with her costume and saw her through two parades, two costume contests, two parties and two trick-or-treat runs. After Halloween, I let her wear them to preschool and within two days all the glitter rubbed off the toe area exposing what looked to be ragged, off white cardboard. The shoes aren't really made of cardboard, but something similar. I didn't expect these shoes to last much longer than Halloween and I got what I expected. They are perfect for a low cost solution to those special occassion dress up/photo op opportunities, but they aren't meant for every day wear. BTW, my daughter doesn't care that the toe area looks ragged, she still likes them. As for fit, they fit fine lengthwise, but the stap on top is tight and hurts after a while. My four year old daughter LOVES these shoes! We are on our 3rd or 4th pair now. The issue is that the sparkles always start to fall off the first day she wears them and by the end of the first week there are bare patches on the toes and by the end of the first month they are totally trashed. She refuses to wear any other shoes so I end up buying another pair (at $10, it's not so bad, but still)I bought these in a size 4 for my daughter and they are nearly impossible to slip on her. They might work on an older child better but the strap is too close to my daughter's ankle so it is difficult to get her foot in.Rerations< Toddler Girls' Circo® Lanai Glitter Ballet Flats - Pink > < Toddler Girls' Disney Princess Glitter Shoes - Pink > < Tinker Bell > < Toddler Girls' Circo® Adelaide Glitter Ballet Shoes - Silver > < Sleeping Beauty (Two-Disc Platinum Edition + Standard DVD and BD Live) [Blu-ray] > freaks< Sultry Slow Moves with Sadie Belly Dance DVD Video > < SADIE - Thrillin' Drillin' - Belly Dance DVD > < Pops Locks&Shimmies with Sadie and Kaya - Belly Dance DVD > < Bellydance - The Next Level: Transitions, Turns&Layers > < Learn Drum Solo Technique&Choreography with Sadie - Belly Dance Lesson DVD > < Sensual Bellydance > price:$36.95 customer 's review(Worth the money)(Content-rich, full of concepts, in-depth chiftetelli instruction)(sylvie)(Excellent DVD)(Excellent DVD for slow moves)Sadie is an excellent dancer, the production quality is fantastic, there is an enormous amount of content that could keep you occupied for a long time, and a versatile choreography on this DVD. Well worth the money.p.s. for what it is worth, this is my first Sadie DVD, and it won't be my last. That girl can dance! In what is actually one of the best videos to have come out this year, Sadie has tackled the difficult-to-teach area of "slow moves". Why difficult? Everyone wants instruction on how to do slow sensual dancing, but interpretations of what this even means are different and expectations vary. To top it all, the slower moves or taqsim in belly dance are often improvised and always highly emotive - which means they usually come from the dancer's own feelings. How on earth do you go about teaching all that?I happen to think Sadie has done a rather good job of exploring this through the chiftetelli rhythm (Turkish-Greek rhythm often played slow and sensual) taking up concepts as well as technique. She also leaves you with combinations to play with and build upon. Altogether, I'd say that's quite a package. I'm usually outraged at IAMED's prices - about thrice those of other equally content-rich videos, but in this case is hard to resist and is definitely value for money. As with most IAMED videos, this one is divided into Technique and Combination sections. There are five technique and combo sections ont his video. But first Sadie begins by explaining the chifti rhythm in detail. She doesn't just tell you the counts and break up of the rhythm and leave you to figure out the rest. She explores the different ways it will be played and accented. So far, this really is the best explanation I've seen on video. The first technique section starts with undulating arm moves, adding the torso wave and going on to bends and sweeps. This warms you up a bit, though it's best to do a separate warm up even before this. We then go on to some moves like undulations and other rib cage moves that experienced beginners up will know well, but this is still a good way to align with the way Sadie will do them here. Each collection of moves is speeded up and done to the music. There are also some breathing exercises and stomach basics. You then go through the basic all-directions moves of the hips and also circles, eights and mayas. This really big technique section opens up the video to include beginners. The technique section gives way to the first combination and it's the one that beginners can attempt most easily as it's the simplest one on this video. Made up of snake arms, undulations, hip circles and omis, mayas and eights, the combo is a nice one to begin a chifti piece with. The pace of instruction is really comfortable and very natural with everything that needs some breaking down being addressed and shown from different angles. It's finally practiced to music several times. This particular combo has become instantly ingrained for me and I use it or parts of it quite happily. The second technique section takes up varying movement speed and accenting the rhythm. The movements used here are the more difficult ones though - pelvic rolls and controlled small undulations, interior hip circles, one-hip circles, and stomach pops. There are also some optional level changes and you also see how to use the demi point. Chest figure eights are brought in. Sadie shows you how to both dance the melody and dance the rhythm. This combination isn't that easy because it features moves in a controlled and slightly layered manner.Angles, poses, eyes and where to look - that's the focus of the next technique section which takes up more demi point poses, body line and extension tips, and we also take up arabesques and the chiftitelli walk. The combination that goes with this section is very graceful and again, one that I really love doing - and it is doable, not Sadie-difficult. This combo is also possible with a veil. She also shows you easy ways to drop to the floor, though there's no floorwork taken up here, only graceful but to-the-floor level changes.Technique 4 is all about accents. This is a very useful section because you can take away this learning and use it with many different movements. The moves here have more subtlety because they draw on small precise accents to add richness and texture. The difficulty level for this one is a bit higher. You could be combining a pelvic drop with a stomach pop, for instance, or tiny accents to the maya.Technique 5 goes on to work with the faster 4×4 chiftitelli. Sadie show you here how to translate some of the moves learnt so far to faster rhythm. But then she goes on to take up moves that were inspired by the faster rhythm to begin with. This includes a fast chifti walk layered with eights. Alternating back chasse, and some hip work on topof that. This combination too is doable and nowhere near the difficulty level of her drum solo, even though it's a fast rhythm.I've grown to love this video as I work with it - unhurriedly. I normally have a huge quarrel with IAMED for pricing their videos so high, but this one is every bit worth it. It's one of those videos that makes a difference fast and permanently. It's not easy to to perform slow moves, this dvd is very helpfull, sadie shows and explains all the details you need for anderstanding, each movement is very clear, i hope she will explain other rythms in others dvd very soon, the must will be to have the cd of the music used for the training and the choreography.I really love this DVD. It's really worth the price and I will not hesitate to purchase another IAMED DVD in the future. Sadie is a fantastic dancer and a good teacher, all moves are explained clearly and she goes in details. This is a DVD you can really learn from and there is a lot to learn. Sadie also prepared some short and nice choreographies. It's even nice just to watch this video, even if you don't feel like practicing something at the moment. Really a great and professional product. There aren't many videos on belly dance slow moves, so when this one came out, I immediately bought it. I had already appreciated Sadie in several performances so I knew what to expect and I was not disappointed. It is true that the price is a little high but the video is 2 hours long and contains lots of chapters so it is well worth buying it. I won't repeat the whole content because it appears in the product description but it is very varied and includes breathing exercises, torso and hip movements, circles, figure 8s, belly rolls, 5 different combos and a performance to chiftetelli rhythm. The instruction is clear and Sadie demonstrates perfectly what she is talking about.Rerations< Sultry Slow Moves with Sadie Belly Dance DVD Video > < SADIE - Thrillin' Drillin' - Belly Dance DVD > < Pops Locks&Shimmies with Sadie and Kaya - Belly Dance DVD > < Bellydance - The Next Level: Transitions, Turns&Layers > < Learn Drum Solo Technique&Choreography with Sadie - Belly Dance Lesson DVD > freaks Content: Nylon/Spandex< Child Hold&Stretch Footed Tights - 14C > < Child Short Sleeve Leotard - U6074CL > < Child's "Daisy" Ballet Slipper - 205C > < Run: A Novel > price:$8.45 customer 's review(Capezio tights are the best out there.)My daughters have been dancing for many years.
