What is an AJAX Portal
A Portal refers to a page that allows users to customize their own homepage by dragging and dropping widgets onto the page. This approach gives users complete control over what content they see on their page, where they want to see it, and how they want to interact with it.
A widget is a discrete piece on a Web page that performs a particular function and comes with its own UI and set of features. Examples of widgets include a to-do-list, an address book, a contact list, an RSS feed, or even a clock, calendar, playlist, stock ticker, weather report, traffic report, dictionary, game, or almost anything you can imagine that can be packaged up and dropped on a Web page. In a corporate environment, widgets can connect to internal systems, such as an Expense Tracker widget that interacts directly with the internal Accounting System. If you are familiar with Sharepoint Portal, then you already know about Widgets. They are called Web parts in Sharepoint’s term and also in ASP.NET 2.0.
Portals are powerful RSS aggregation platform. You can put as many RSS widgets as you like on your page and get fresh content delivered to you as soon as it is published. Some Portal like Pageflakes archives RSS for a long time and thus you can go back in time and read older posts, save posts, and forward interesting articles to your friends.
An Ajax-powered portal is specifically a portal that uses Ajax technologies to create richer experiences for its users. It is one step ahead of previous generation portals like My Yahoo or MSN.com, because it gives you state-of-the-art UI that behaves more like a Windows client application -- with widgets, animations, popups, client side data grids, and other effects not usually found on a non-Ajax Web portal .

How is ASP.NET AJAX used in this project?
It is an N-tier application, with a user interface (UI) layer, a business layer, and a data access layer. I have used ASP.NET AJAX to implement the UI layer of the portal application which includes the homepage and the widgets’ UI. ASP.NET AJAX provides the framework for loading widgets onto the home page, updating widgets without doing any postbacks (via UpdatePanel), and changing page layout by dragging and dropping widgets on the page. It also provides a rich collection of Control Extenders, that add cool effects like fade in/fade out, smooth transitions, and client side animations . You can add to the rich clientside experience by providing auto-completion behavior on text boxes, asynchronous data loading via webservice calls, and client side paging, sorting and many more.
How is .NET 3.5 used in this project
The business layer of the application is built with the Workflow Foundation in .NET 3.0 . Major operations like a first-time user visit, a subsequent user visit, adding a new widget, and creating a new page are all orchestrated using workflow . The workflows contain all the business rules and activities needed to complete each operation. For example, the "New User Visit" workflow creates the user account, populates the user profile with default values, creates some default pages, populates them with specific widgets, etc. Such compound operations are very easy to build with Workflows , which enables you to break the complete workflow operation into smaller chunks named Activities. Each Activity does a very small amount of work. It talks to the data access layer and performs the task. The data access layer is built with .NET 3.5 , utilizing LINQ to SQL .
The web project and the widgets make good use of .NET 3.5 by utilizing lambda expressions , LINQ to SQL, and LINQ to XML. You will use Linq queries to work with collections and database rows. Widgets make good use of Linq to Xml in order to consume XML from external data sources.

The screen protector does not fit the Nintendo DS lite touch-screen properly, basically it does not cover the entire screen. The product is of poor quality (I guess you get your money's worth). I had trouble putting it on without getting air bubbles between the screen protector and the touch screen. Someone mentioned that it was too thick and did not detect the stylus, I cannot comment on that, because since I LOST the battle with the Air-Bubbles, I took the screen protector off completely without trying it out. It's cheap but doesn't work for the bottom screen. It comes in two sizes, one that would fit the top screen and one that would fit the bottom screen but the screen protector for the bottom screen is too thick for stylus detection. I put it on and couldn't play with my DS but luckily it uses static to stick on the screen instead of glue so I was able to use duct tape to peel it off. These protectors were very easy to get on without any air bubbles unlike most other screen protectors I've tried. This is a great product. Bought this product and was worried it may not work on my cellphone screen because the item is intended for Nintendo Lite. I know nothing about video game gadgets screens. The actual package received doesnt reference Nintendo at all and I was relieved. It is just a universal clear screen guard for similar size specs. Guard protects my samsung cell screen ok with unavoidable air bubbles but NO sticky residue. These screen protectors make it easier to write on the screen and they may be a little better than the ones that came with the Nintendo DS Lite! The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the shipping and handling is a little high! (Pretty good, but...) I purchased this as a present for my step-son. After using it, he washed my car, cooked me supper, mowed the lawn and scrubbed the floors. Seriously; he was thrilled and said that it improved his enjoyment of his X-Box 360. I'm sure there are better, but for the money, this is great. Just like most people, I bought these so that my fiance wouldn't have to hear me on the nights where she had to get up early and go to work when I had the next day off. The sound is good, but not AWESOME. I read the reviews here and talked to other people that used them and everyone said they sound AMAZING. I've got great ears for sound quality unlike many people and I didn't think these were as "amazing" as people were putting them out to be. They are good, but not great. If you play CoD4, you can sometimes tell when someone is running behind you but a lot of the time, you just don't know if they are in front or sometimes on your side. They have to be almost directly on your side for you to hear them just in the one speaker. People have mentioned the "wires/sound being backwards". Well, everyone is use to having the mic on their right and ear force has changed it to have the mic on your left. Just something to get use to I guess. Others have mentioned their batteries were being eaten a live, well BUY RECHARGEABLES. Some guy said rechargeables don't work but they do. This is what I bought: La Crosse Technology BC-900 AlphaPower Battery Charger They work great and you can use the AA's that come with it on your Xbox controller. This is a much smarter buy than getting the recharge tower for the Xbox 360 Controller Rechargeable batteries. Another issue I have with this set is the sound cutting out. Other people have said, and others confirmed, that when there's a big explosion, the sound cuts out. This is true...sort of. When I first got them, I was playing on my couch almost directly in line with the sensor and everything was working perfectly. Then the next time I played, I was sitting on the floor, not in direct line (I was under the sensor) and I noticed that the loud sounds would cut out. So after noticing that, I started moving around and realized that you have to be pretty much dead on for it to work 99% perfect. By doing this, it shouldn't cut out and if it does, it is not really noticeable. One thing that is annoying is when I turn these on, they don't "work" right away. I have to tap one of the sensors for these to start working. Annoying but I can live with it. I've had mine for about 2 weeks now and I'm enjoying them. They are pretty good for playing CoD4 and if you have a wife, fiance, girlfriend or even family that you don't want to disturb at night, this is definitely the product to buy (unless you have $250 to spend, then get one of those MLG sponsored headsets). So overall 4 out of 5 stars. I bought these headsets to be able to play on XBox Live and listen to TV/movies late at night and they're almost perfect. The sound is amazing and the reception area is great. I can almost walk out of the a 17' wide room before losing reception. The only problem I have with this headset and why I didn't give it a 5 star review is that it does not have a charging stand. So you'll have to get rechargeable batteries and replace them every so often depending upon your use. I got about 20 hours of use out of the included AAA batteries before having to replace them. Headset does what it says, plays xbox sound independenlty of your stereo or TV. Wireless function is cool, would be nicer if it was RF instead of IR. Direct line of site is required to hear sound. So if you walk away, you can only hear chat, but not game sounds, bad for bathroom breaks. Headset plugs into the controller for chat sound. This thing EATS batteries. You get about 20 hours or so of use before having to replace the batteries(AAA x 2). I would really like it if you could plug your xbox rechargeable batteries into this thing, get power from the controller or just have an AC adapter I could plug in close to where I am sitting. When the batteries get low, sound quality goes to 0 and you can't talk over the mic. The sound quality is decent, though I wouldnt use these to listen to music or TV. I have to tap them once for them to play at full volume when I first turn them on, no idea why. Manufacturing quality is decent, but for the money I would expect more. These are decent sounding headphone that excel in Live! functionality and wireless freedom. There is an omnipresent hiss that becomes unnoticeable during games, but is annoying at times. In general they don't seem to be constructed very well. Mine are broken right now because the mic wire jack broke off the headphone circuit board (internal to the earpiece). Looks like I have to buy a new pair- ouch! It is really nice to be able to adjust player voice volume separate from the game volume and the ability to hear yourself is nice for other people who may be in the room or sleeping nearby (no yelling). An arcade style wheel with pedals for my Gamecube racing games to use on my Nintendo Wii. I love the realistic feel of racing, and the Gamecube racing selection. I wanted to find a way to play those games as I would if they were Wii games. And this is it! It also works with Mario Kart for Wii really well! (This is the only Wii game that it's currently compatible with at this time, because the game allows use of the Gamecube controller.) Works well straight out of the box. I was able to plug it in, and start playing right away. It does take just a moment to learn where the correct buttons are, like with Mario Kart for example. I was very impressed with way the controls handled and responded. Not too loose but just right. It was much easier to use then the Gamecube controller on games like Burnout, where you need quick, accurate response, without over-correcting. PC wheels I have used in the past seemed to have you all over the place, and were too responsive, with no tension. This wheel has the perfect balance. It also seems sturdy enough to last for a while. The size wasn't bad and I found it quite comfortable. It's not the size of a full sized wheel, but it certainly wasn't an inconvenience. I actually liked the smaller size, it felt easier to use. Close to the size of the Wii wheel, so it felt familiar. It will add a new dimension to your Gamecube racing games, and open up some more fun options for those of us that have Wii, but have limited racing selection. Als erwachsener Gelegenheitsspieler ohne Vorkenntnisse mit Spielekonsolen finde ich dieses Spiel klasse und abwechslungsreich. Die verschiedenen Level finde ich teilweise nicht einfach und gelingen mir keinesfalls auf Anhieb. Ich denke, für geübte Konsolenspieler ist der Anspruch anders. In jedem Fall sind die Figuren witzig und die Grafik ist super und es kommt keine Langeweile auf. Ich kann dieses Spiel empfehlen. Das Spiel bietet eine tolle Grafik und es macht jede Menge Spaß, allerdings hat es viel zu wenig Level und man ist nach kürzester Zeit durch die einfachen Aufgaben hindurch, daher finde ich es zu teuer. Diesen Erfolg konnte man an einigen Eckpfeilern fest machen...die das WII Spin Off leider alle Konsequent anders interprätiert. In Farcry war alles immer ganz besonders schön und man erfreute sich an toller Jungleoptik. Selbiger bot einem in seiner Dichte alle nur erdenklichen Möglichkeiten zum Guerillia Kampf. Vengance hält die ganze Sache mit der Spielfreiheit für etwas überbewertet. Stadt durch Unterholz stolpert gelangweilt über triste Trampelpfade. Da ist vom Ansatz des Original nicht mehr viel ü ig. In Kampfsituationen hat man allerdings die ganz große Auswahl an Waffen, Fahrzeugen und dem Predator Modus. Viel Spaß hat man aufgrund der überschaubaren Örtlichekeiten allerdings nicht daran...denn da ist ohnehin keine Taktik oder Überraschungsangriffe erforderlich. Ein bisschen wie Zugfahren...nur zu Fuß. Bei der KI wollten die Entwickler mal was ganz besonderes machen...oder haben sie schlichtweg vergessen. Denn falls nötig wird der Spieler auch schlicht einmal ignoriert und der Sichtkegel der Söldner ist noch kleiner als der einer Metal Gear Solid Wache. Dazu kommt leider noch eine teilweise einfach nur schlechte WII anpassung. Schnelle Zooms in hecktischen Gefechten waren auf anderen Systemen Gang und Gebe...doch auf dem Wii einfach nicht machbar. Zu guter Letzt ist die Grafik mehr als gruselig. Klar darf man nicht auf PS3 oder Xbox360 Effekte hoffen, doch was einem dort an Grafikfehlern und architektonischen Paradoxons geboten wird lässt selbst den untallentiertesten Architekten schon mal die WII Remote nach dem TV werfen. "Einem geschenktem Gaul, schaut man nicht ins Maul." So kann ich es wohl am besten beschreiben. Ich habe das Spiel geschenkt bekommen und ich bin auch froh drum, dass derjenige, der es mir gekauft hat nicht mehr als 5 Euro ausgegeben hat. Far Cry steht eigentlich schon immer für gute Grafik, Spielspaß, Abwechslung und eine raffinierte KI. Auf der Wii? Fehlanzeige. Grafik: Die Grafik hat potential, das sei nicht in Frage gestellt, doch was Ubi-Soft hier dann teilweiße abliefert, ist wirklich Playstation und N64 Niveau. Ekelhafte Texturen und Charaktermodelle, hässliches Wasser (für Far Cry-Verhältnisse) treffen auf "teils" schöne Vegetation. Wären da nicht die nervigen Pop-Ups und der nervige Grafikaufbau im Vordergrund. So nicht! Die Wii kann 1000x mehr, und das hier wurde einfach nur "hingerotzt". Sogar die um Jahre älteren Xbox und PC-Versionen sehen um ein vielfaches besser aus. --- 1,5/5 Sound: Auch hier hat man unsauber gearbeitet. Zwar können ein paar Sounds überzeugen, doch die Übersetzung der Gegner ist lächerlich. Immer die gleichen Sätze, nervige Musik im Hintergrund die sich auch 100x wiederholt. Gott sei Dank ist die Sprachausgabe der Hauptprotagonisten einigermaßen gelungen, denn sonst wäre auch hier Hopfen und Malz verloren. --- 2/5 Steuerung: Das einzig positive am Spiel ist die Steuerung. Diese wurde gut umgesetzt und weiß zu überzeugen. Ob das Zielen, Rennen, Fahren oder Springen, dies klappt eigentlich alles perfekt, wäre da nicht dieses blöde Sensibilitätssystem von Far Cry Vengeance. d.h. wenn man sich mehr als 2 m entfernt icht das Spiel ab bis man wieder näher zum Fernseher rutscht. So kann man leider nicht entspannt ein bisschen weiter weg zocken. Schade, denn sonst gibts Steuerungstechnisch nichts weiter zu meckern. --- 4/5 Gameplay: Die gewohnte Far Cry Kost - nur schlechter. So lässt sich das Spiel Gameplaytechnisch am besten "zitieren". Die Story ist nicht erwähnenswert, die KI lächerlich (ich möchte gar nicht näher darauf eingehen, weil dies einfach nur peinlich ist), das Leveldesign ok und die Abwechslung "wäre" gut, wenn die anderen Punkte dies nicht so eindämmen würden. Schade, denn es macht im Prinzip eigentlich Spaß mit Jack Carver durch die Inseln zu ziehen, Fahrzeuge zu steuern und unterschiedliche Missonen zu erfüllen. Doch durch die schlechte Grafik, den mießen Sound und die gravierenden Fehler im Gameplay bleibt der Spielspaß leider auf der Strecke. Schade, schade. So viel Potential wie hier verschenkt wurde, dafür gehört sich UbiSoft eigentlich gehängt :( -- 2/5 Fazit: Far Cry Vengeance sollte im Regal liegen gelassen werden. Denn in diesem Zustand ist es nicht akzeptabel, so etwas auf die Leute zu lassen. Man merkt das viel, ja zuviel Potential verschenkt wurde. So macht es einfach fast keinen Spaß und man sollte lieber zur wesentlich besseren PC-Version oder auch zur sehr guten Xbox-Version greifen. -------- 2/5 Ich habe mir das Spiel Gott sei Dank nur ausgeliehen.Und das ist auch gut so,denn was mir da geboten wird ist wirklich eine Frechheit.Grafisch nicht mal annähernd an Wii--eher an N64 Niveau.Ploppende Hintergründe,miese Texturen,einfach absoluter Müll.Getoppt wird das ganze vom schlechtesten Sound,den man in ein Spiel packen kann.Ständig wiederholende Loops und unnötigen Sprachsamples der Gegener.("Ich mach Dich kalt"--Uahh,hab ich Angst).Die Steuerung ist dann noch der Gipfel.Träge und ungenau.KI bei Gegnern? Nicht vorhanden. Insgesamt das schlechteste Spiel für Wii und ich spiele schon seit 20 Jahren Videospiele.Dann lieber noch zu Metroid Prime 3 Corruption greifen,da bekommt man mehr für's Geld. Ich will nicht leugnen, dass die Grafik nicht wirklich gut ist und die KI ist teilweise so schlecht, dass ich an manchen Stellen im Spiel über die Gegner lachen musste. Trotzdem finde ich, dass das Spiel einen gewissen Spaßfaktor hat. Dieser kommt dadurch zustande, dass die Steuerung sehr gut an die Wii angepasst ist und auch super funktioniert. Diese sorgt für ein ganz neues Spielerlebnis. Die Story ist jetzt auch nicht die Beste, jedoch war das ja noch nie die Stärke von Far Cry oder Shootern allgemein. Ich habe jetzt etwa 6 Wii-Spiele unterschiedlichster Sorten, und das größte Problem ist der Dauerspaß. Bei Far Cry Vengeance kann man zumindest sagen, dass es durchaus vorkommt, dass ich dieses Spiel noch einmal einlegen will, auch wenn ich es schon durchgespielt habe. Über die grafischen Schwächen kann man nicht hinwegreden. Die Filmsequenzen erinnern an die von James-Bond-Spielen für den Game Cube. Sie sind sogar noch schlechter als die eigentliche Spiel-Grafik. Die wiederum ist nicht besonders gut, aber auch nicht wahnsinnig schlecht, wenn man zuletzt einen Game Cube hatte. Man merkt zwar, dass manchmal Objekte aus dem nichts auftauchen oder dass das Gras "wächst", aber das ist zu verkraften. Über den Spielinhalt lässt sich nicht viel sagen. Man kann das Spiel durchaus gewinnen, ohne ständig in den Wildtiermodus (oder wie der auch heißt) zu geraten. Wer also auf diese seltsamen Fähigkeiten verzichten will und einfach taktisch gut schießen will, kann das machen. Fazit: Es gibt momentan für Wii mehrere Ego-Shooter, und nach dem, was ich gehört habe, sind die besser als Far Cry Vengeance. Wer total auf Ego-Shooter steht, wird von diesem wahrscheinlich aufgrund der vielen Vergleichsmöglichkeiten enttäuscht sein. Die ersten Spielstunden sorgen für Spaß pur, doch wenn man den kurzen Story-Modus - der nur drei bis vier Stunden dauert - duch hat, kommt mit der Zeit die Langeweile auf. Positiv zu erwähnen ist aber noch, dass man das Spiel im Mehrspielermodus mit bis zu zwölf Personen spielen kann, was für lange Partyabende sorgt. Die Wii-Steuerung wurde gut umgesetzt, funktioniert aber nicht bei allen Microgames wie man es will. Fazit: Wer auf Hektik und Spielspaß steht, zudem noch gerne Partyabende macht und weniger auf Grafik achtet, für den ist Wario Ware: Smooth Moves ein Pflichtkauf. Hierbei handelt es sich wirklich nur um ein Partyspiel. Es geht schnell zur Sache und man hat einigen Spaß dabei. Für Einzelspieler oder für das tägliche Spielen eher nicht geeignet. Wario Ware ist ein nettes Spiel was für einige Stunden Spaß sorgt, vor allem wenn noch Freunde dabei sind kann man richtig gut lachen. Es ist auch sehr gut, um Freunden zu zeigen, wie man die Fernbedienung eigentlich einsetzen kann. Allerdings gehen die bunte Farben auf Dauer gar nicht. Für Epileptiker würde ich dieses Spiel nicht empfehlen, bei den Farben krieg ich als gesunder Mensch ja schon nen Knall. Alleine wird das Spiel aber auf Dauer langweilig. Ich habe ca. 4 - 5 Stunden ge aucht, dann gab es nichts neues mehr zu erforschen in diesem Spiel. Negativ zu bemerken ist, dass die Minispiele viel zu kurz ausfallen, die Steuerung manchmal etwas hakelig ist und man bei vielen Spielen beim ersten Mal gar nicht weiß was man machen soll. Außerdem sind im Einzelspieler-Modus die langen Sequenzen vor neuen Levels extrem langweilig. Man sollte für dieses Spiel auf gar keinen Fall 50¬ ausgeben, sonst wäre man meiner Meinung nach sehr enttäuscht. Mit Wario Ware Smooth Moves hat Nintendo ein großartiges Party-Spiel entwickelt, das aber auch allein genügend Unterhaltung für mehrere Stunden mit ingt. Die beste Möglichkeit, seinen Freunden zu zeigen was man alles mit der Wii-Steuerung anstellen kann. Also ich finde die Minispiele sehr witzig, auch wenn sich einige sehr ähnlich sind. Auch der Grafikstil gefällt mir sehr gut, vieles ist stilisiert, aber gerade das macht auch den Stil des Spiels aus... simpel aber effektvoll. Auch die Musik gefällt mir ausgesprochen gut, sie sorgt für Stimmung und zusammen mit den schnell aufeinander folgenden Spielen und kurzen Videos sorgt sie für spassige motivierende Hektik. Aber Vorsicht! Wer sich "Wario Ware" hauptsächlich kauft, um mit mehreren Spielern Spass zu haben, die seien gewarnt! Wario Ware ist in erste Linie für Einzelspieler ausgelegt. Erst wenn man den Einzelspieler-Modus durchspielt, hat man quasi als "Bonus" Zugriff auf den Multiplayer-Modus. Dort gibts dann eine Handvoll extra entworfene Spiele, die aber auch nur für maximal zwei Spieler gedacht sind. Diese sind aber auch sehr lustig, vor allem das Dart-Spiel wurde gut umgesetzt. Die Grafik der Wii entspricht meiner Meinung nach eher DirectX8 - 8.5 Niveau, vor allem auf Kantenglättung wartet man vergeblich. Weiterhin bietet die Wii zwar viele Perlen an Spielen aber auch genau so viel Abfall-Mini-Kleinkinder-Spargames(auf jeden Fall Amazon konsultieren vor dem Spiele Kauf ;) ) Aaaaaber: Die Wii bietet ein innovatives neues Spielgefühl durch die intuitive und witzige Steuerung und vor allem echten Multiplayer-Spaß mit bis zu 4 Spielern gleichzeitig(ein echter Hit auf jeder Party!). Die Online Anbindung ist recht solide und kinderleicht eingerichtet(WLan vorausgesetzt!) Wie oben erwähnt ist die Grafik zwar im Vergleich zur PS3/XBox zwar unterdurchschnittlich aber in sich keinesfalls häßlich, gerade bei Spielen wie Metroid Prime 3 zeigt die Wii ihr Potential. Selbiges ist ü igens einer der besten Shooter, den ich je gespielt habe und demonstriert ,dass die Wii auch für den Solozocker einiges bietet. Fazit: Falls für sie grafisches Aha-Erlebnis und die Topaktuellsten Spiele Titel ein muss sind, dann FINGER WEG von dieser Konsole! Können sie allerdings ohne dieses Leben und möchten einfach nur Spaß(vor allem mit mehreren Mitspielern) haben, dann KLARE KAUFEMPFEHLUNG! Mit der Wii ist es wie mit Äpfeln und Birnen. Ich hatte vorher schon den Gamecube und die Playstation, aber die können da nicht mithalten. Bei der Wii sitzt man nicht starr vor dem Fernseher, sondern geht richtig mit.Vor allem Familien mit Kindern kann ich die Wii nur empfehlen. Einziges Manko finde ich die sehr teuren Controller (Stück 40 Euro)und die Spielpreise (bei Toptiteln ca.50 Euro).Ansonsten würde ich mir diese Konsole jederzeit wieder kaufen. Hier heißt es: Stop mit dem "auf dem Sofa sitzend und Ballerspiele spielenden Spielkonsolen" !! Bewegen und Aktiv sein lautet hier das Motto. Diese Konsole ist einfach einmalig. Gut, die Grafik ist nicht die einer Play Station. Aber wofür wurde die Nintendo Wii denn gebaut ?? Für solche Games wie: "Wii Sports, Wii Fit oder Wii Play" !! Der Spaßfaktor ist riesig. Etwas völlig anderes als vor dem PC oder einer anderen Spielkonsole mit "toller Grafik" zu hocken und den Joystick zu schwingen. Die Wii ist nicht für Action und Arcadespiele gebaut. Darum verstehe ich hier einige Rezensionen nicht. Man aucht beides. Eine Konsole zum Ballern und eine für Sport und Bewegung !!! Für mich ist die Wii Revolutionär und die beste Anschaffung, die ich seit langen getätigt hatte !!! Wirklich toll. Das betrifft in erster Linie die Steuerung. Es handelt sich hierbei um eine Innovation auf dem Konsolen-Markt. Man hat teilweise (fast) das Gefühl, Sport zu treiben. Und das im eigenen Wohnzimmer. Bei jedem Zweifel sollte man überdenken, dass es sich hierbei um eine Neuerung handelt, die in Zukunft nur NOCH besser werden kann. Ich für meinen Teil bin jetzt schon ein Fan dieser Art zu spielen.Bei der neuen Nintendo-Konsole werden qualitativ hochwertige Materialien zu einem schicken kompakten Design verarbeitet, das in etwa die Größe von drei normalen DVD-Hüllen (übereinander) hat. Der Classic Controller ist qualitativ sehr hochwertig verarbeitet, was man sofort bemerkt, schon beim Anblick in der tollen Verpackung. Beim Öffnen und Auspacken sticht einem auch hier die Nintendo typische Qualität ins Auge, mit welcher die Ware, sehr gut schützend, auf den Weg ge acht wird. Das Design des Controllers ist sehr schön, alle Knöpfe sind gut zu erreichen. Selbst große Männerhände, wie die meinen, haben mit ihm keine Schwierigkeiten :) Die Backen liegen perfekt in beiden Händen, eine willkommene Abwechslung zu den "Hörnern" anderer Konsolen und eine Hommage an vergangene Zeiten... Moin, also der Controller ist perfekt verarbeitet und fügt sich nadlos in die elegante reihe der Wii-Zubehör teile ein. Er ist ein muss für so einige VC-Spiel und daher kann man nicht an ihm vorbei kommen, das macht aber nichts da er wie schon erwähnt sehr gut ist. ( Das Bild wird Pixeliger dargestellt als über Scart. Ich konnte mir nicht vorstellen das das Bild wirklich schlechter wird aber als ich das Kabel angeschlossen habe und das Ausgangssignal auf HDTV gestellt habe. Wurde bei Spielen wie Resident Evil 4 oder auch Wii Fit Gerade Kannten stufig. (Total störend!) Ich weis aber auch nicht woran es liegt ich glaube nicht am Kabel da andere Kunden eine Bildverbesserung erzielen konnten. Und diesen Problem ja auch bei anderen Kabel von anderen Herstellern vorkamen. (siehe Rezessionen) Ich habe die Wii an einen Panasonic 42 Zoll Plasma angeschlossen. Falls dies einen weiter hilft... 3 Sterne da ich mir nicht sicher bin ob es am Kabel liegt. Also ich kann jetzt leider keine Beurteilung des Kabels gegenüber anderen Komponenten-Kabeln machen. Allerdings dem originalen AV-Kabel welches der Wii-Konsole beiliegt. Bisheriger stand, zuerst ein kleiner CRT mit 55cm später bin ich dann auf nen 32" Toschiba LCD gewechselt. Das Bild wurde auf Breitbild umgestellt und ich war geschockt wie unsscharf das Spiel im vergleich zum Röhren-TV wirkte. Seis drum,... also das obige Kabel im ich bin doch nicht Blöd Markt für 18Euronen gekauft. Zur verarbeitung: Das Kabel wirkt besser verarbeitet als das normale AV-Kabel von Nintendo. Also die Stecker sind gummiert mit Far ingen zur Identifikation und Goldkontakten versehen. Die Kabel sind recht dick und wirken dadurch nicht so Billig, Zudem ist der Hauptstrang recht steif und wirkt ebenfalls alles andere als Billig. Der Stecker an der Wii-Konsole passt perfekt und ist auch kein Wackelkanditat oder so in die Richtung.Die Soundkabel hätten ruhig ein bisschen Früher abgezweigt werden können um sie so besser in die Soundeinlage führen zu können. Zum Wichtigsten .. das Bild: Eingesteclt 480p ausgewählt und was seh ich da , dass Wii Menü ist wirklich ein Ganzes stück schärfer ... fantastisch. Als ich Zelde zum Test Auswählte kam die Ernüchterung: Pixelgematsche und Kantenflimmern. Nein echt vor lauter Pixel und Treppchen sah das Bild schlechter aus als mit dem Original-Kabel. Klar wurden die Farben besser und das Bild kontrastreicher, auch Details haben zugenommen aber dieser Pixel ei war unzumutbar. Anderst sah es im Spiel Pro Evolution Soccer aus. Dieses hatt sehr vom Komponentenkabel Profitiert. Ich habe nochnicht alle Games ausprobiert. Vielleicht war Zelda auch noch nicht auf den Einsatz von 480p optimiert worden (aufgrund der GameCube-Herkunft). Fazit: über 50% Billiger als das Original-Kabel. Eindeutige Bildverbesserungen in diversen Spielen, allerdings fällt einem die Geringere auflösung mehr auf und es kommt erst recht zur Treppchen-Bildung und Pixeldarstellung. Man sollte also wirklich ein Guten Fernseher haben der mit 480p "gut" umgehen kann und diese gut Interpoliert. Im Großen und ganzen muss ich sagen, dass man sich schnell an des Bild gewöhnt und die Negativpunkte fast nur bei Zelda so extrem aufgefallen sind. Abgesehen davon ist das Kabel vollends zu empfehlen. Ich hatte die Wii bisher über den originalen Scart-Adapter (F-bas) angeschlossen und fand das Bild gut. Aber jetzt auf 480p toppt dieses Bild das alte um längen - aber nicht vergessen: Die maximale Auflösung von Wii beträgt 480p (852 x 480 Pixel) im Vollbildmodus. Spiele seit einem Jahr mit der Wii über Scart an einem herkömmlichen Fernseher. Habe mir nun einen LCD-TV HD Ready zugelegt un dieses Kabel geholt. Erst mal Top Lieferung, wie immer schnell. Das Kabel weist eine sehr gute Verarbeitung auf und liefert ein Top Bild. In meinen Augen ein sehr guter Kabel mit einer guten Verarbeitung. Hatte auch schon Mal Originalkabel von Nintendo und konnte keine Qualitätsunterschiede feststellen. Endlich das lästige Laptop bedienen im Wohnzimmer los. Leider war nirgends (auch bei X-OOM nicht) so genau die Funktionsweise beschrieben. In meuner Blauäugigkeit bin ich davon ausgegangen, daß es eine Wii DVD ist, welche dann auf UPnP Geräte zugreift oder zusätzlich noch einen PC mit Medien unterstützt. Also war ich erst einmal überrascht, daß eine reine PC CD in der Lieferung enthalten war. Dann wurde mir das Prinzip klar. Auf dem PC wird ein WebServer installiert, der die Medien des PCs auf einer WebSite zur Verfügung stellt. Die WebSite kann also nicht nur von der Wii, sondern jedem internettauglichen Gerät aufgerufen werden, ob dann dann die Medien angezeigt werden können, weiss ich nicht, denn das ganze funktioniert ja leider nicht. Wieso, dazu gleich. Nach der Installation wurden erst einaml zwei Updates geladen, was mich ja erst einmal gefreut hat (es wird an dem Produkt entwickelt), aber das hat nichts an der Tatsache geändert, daß es nicht funktioniert. Beim Scannen der Medien ist das MediaCenter regelmässig auf dem PC abgestürzt. Ich habe es auf drei verschiedenen Maschinen probiert. Auch habe ich mal nur lokale Dateien verwendet, mal Files auf meinem NAS. Ausserdem habe ich versucht mal nur Bilder, nur Movies oder nur Musik in die Bibliothek aufzunehmen. Immer wieder Programmabstürze. Leider waren die bisher gescannten Dokumente nie in der Bobliothek zu sehen. Lästig ist eben auch, daß der Rechner immer laufen muß, wenn man von der Wii aus darauf zugreifen möchte. Die Idee ist gut, aber leider nicht ausgereift. Schade X-OOM. Als ich über Wii Media Center gelesen habe, dachte ich mir, genau das, was ich auche. Derzeit schaue ich PC-Filme im Wohnzimmer immer so: Film im Arbeitszimmer auf einen USB Stick geben, USB Stick im Wohnzimmer in den DVD Player stecken (yeah - mein 40¬ DVd Player kann das Xvis, DivX etc ..) Die XOOM Software versprach mir, den Gang ins Arbeitzimmer zu ersparen. Theoretisch macht sie das. Auch die Installation ging gut von der Hand, hier keine Probleme. Damit war es aber dann schon aus mit meinen Träumen von einem echten Media Center über die Wii. Beim einlesen der Files in die XOOM Media Bibliothek ist mir das Programm häufig abgestürzt und hinterlies dann nicht mehr zu löschende Einträge in der Bibliothek, die sich nur mehr durch Löschen des Programmes am Server-Rechner enfernen ließen. Dachte zuerst das läge an fehlerhaften Video-Dateien meinerseits, aber die USB-Stick-DVD-Player methode hat da immer funktioniert. Noch schlimmer ist, dass Videos in einer verkleinerten Version am Bildschirm (im Vollbildmodus) erscheinen (gut- man kann das Video zoomen, aber Qualität??!). Diese Befürchtung hatte ich schon im Vorfeld, aber die Screenshots in der Anleitung zeigten einen Menüpunkt "Videogröße", der mir eine Kontrolle über das Videobild vorgaukelte. Leider stimmt der Screenshot nicht mit dem tatsächlichen Einstellbildschirm überein, denn dort sucht man diese Option vergebens (auch nicht nach Programm-Update). Also Vidoe Umsetzung sehr mangelhaft. Die Fotobearbeitung ist leider auch nicht besser. Die Fotos werden zwar meistens problemlos eingelesen, aber das Foto-Ansichtsmodul auf der Wii hinkt doch schwer hinter dem genialen Fotomodus der Wii, der schon eingebaut ist, aber leider nur über die SD-Karte funktioniert, sehr hinterher. Musik abspielen geht ganz OK, aber dafür auchte ich schon vorher keine Wii, das macht ein Terratec Noxxon eigentlich auch fast besser - und man aucht keinen Fernseher oder eine sehr Speicherfressende Media Server Applikation. Ich hatte schon vor dem Kauf die Befürchtung, dass das Programm nicht allzu viel taugt, aber im Netz habe ich nur Pressemeldungen gefunden und das Handbuch - und wie gesagt, das Handbuch zeigt auf den Screenshots einige Optionen, die schlicht und einfach beim wirklichen Programm nicht existieren (oder bin ich zu blöd diese zu finden. Eine Frechheit, hätte ich das Handbuch nicht vorher gesehen, ich hätte das Zeug sicher nicht gekauft. Also kann ich als Resümee nur sagen: Finger Weg, wenn man einen wirklichen Media-Server erwartet. Als Medienserver bekommt man mit Twonky Media Server eine wesentlich bessere Software. Vielleicht programmiert ja mal wer ein UPNP Modul für die Wii und dann ist die Wii ein perfekter Media Server. Mit XOOM sicher nicht. In der Produktbeschreibung wird leider verschwiegen, daß für jede Aktion die man mit dem WII Media-Center erledigen möchte, ein PC benötigt wird. Man erhält nur eine CD-Rom für den Computer, die unter Win XP/2000 oder Vista installiert werden muß. Zusätzlich muß auf der WII der Opera-Browser installiert werden, dieser kostet sofern nicht schon installiert, 500 WII Punkte (umgerechnet ca 5 ¬) Mit dem Browser meldet man sich auf einer Web-Seite von X-OOM an, der die Verbindung zum heimischen PC mit der X-OOM-Software herstellt. Diese Software scant nach der Installation die Festplatte nach den Medien-Dateien, was bei ca 2000 Bildern ca 10000 MP3-Datei, vielen Video-Dateien Stunden dauert, sofern die Software nicht wieder abgestürzt ist. Eine späte Änderung ist immer nur mit einem erneuten Scan möglich. Ich habe keine Möglichkeit gefunden, eine neue Video-Datei mal spontan in das Programm einzubinden. Ich habe mir das Programm aber überwiegend für die WEB-TV-Funktion besorgt. Aber auch für diese Funktion muß immer der Rechner an sein und die X-OOM Software gestartet sein. Dann kann ich meinen Rechner auch gleich an den Fernseher anschließen. Zudem kam es bei allen Programmen immer zu Aussetzern. Ich kann allerdings jetzt nicht sagen, ob dieses an der Software liegt oder am Router. Hier werden die Daten ja erst an den Rechner geschickt und dann an den Router zurück um über W-Lan an die WII zu senden. Videoformate hat die Software leider auch nicht alle abgespielt. MP4-Dateien von meinem Camcorder wurden abgespielt, MPG2-Dateien von meinem digitalen Videorecorder hat die Software ignoriert. Für ca 35 ¬ ist diese Software dann doch einfach zu teuer, wo es im Internet inzwischen auch Freeware gibt, die ungefähr den gleichen Funktionsumfang hat. Ich bin bei dieser Software von ausgegangen, daß eine Software für die WII beiliegt, aber nur Streaming über den PC, so habe ich mir das nicht vorgestellt. Auch wenn natürlich der Mensch die Entscheidungen für sich trifft (und nicht der Computer), hat mir Nintendos Konsole in den letzten Wochen das eine oder andere Mal dabei geholfen, mich zu beschäftigen, wenn das Verlangen mal wieder stark präsent war. Ich weiss, dass meine Geschichte weniger mit einer Rezension eines Produktes zu tun hat. Aber immer wenn ich daran denke, wie ich mit dem Laster aufhörte, muss ich zeitgleich an Nintendo und Co denken. Wer gerne lacht, Computerspielen nicht abgeneigt ist und sich gerne bewegt, dem sei die Wii Fit sehr empfohlen! Wir haben nun seit ca. 7 Wochen die Wii mit dem Balance Board und sind wirklich begeistert. Meine anfänglichen Vorbehalte, ob Wii Fit auch etwas für Leute ist, die in ihrer Freizeit schon Sport treiben, haben sich erledigt. Ich selbst trainiere relativ regelmäßig im Kraftraum und gehe mehrmals die Woche laufen. Dennoch haben mir einige Übungen wirklich meine Grenzen aufgezeigt, da gerade der Bereich der Balance bei vielen Individualsportarten zu kurz kommt und Wii Fit ziemlich eindeutig Schwächen in diesem Bereich aufzeigt. Nach und nach habe ich meine Lieblingsübungen gefunden und betreibe diese fast täglich. Die Herausforderungen reichen von "wirklich einfach" bis zu "immer noch nicht geschafft" (in meinem Fall das Liegestütz-Duell - kleiner Tip ACHTUNG SPOILER - um den letzten Stern beim Klappmesser-Duell zu bekommen muss man 100 Stück schaffen, gleiches gilt wohl für das Liegestützduell, echt heftig). Vorweg sei natürlich gesagt, das Balance Board ist nur so gut wie der jenige, der damit trainiert. Bei jeder Übung kann man betrügen, aber was soll das einem selber nutzen. Ich habe den Kauf jedenfalls nicht bereut und begebe mich gleich wieder auf das Board. Diese Art Sportprogramm gab es noch nie bei einer Konsole. Wenn einige meinen, man kann hier und da etwas verbessern, dann sollten diese sich mal vor Augen halten, dass dieses Programm mit dem Board einmalig ist.Zu mosern gibt es bei allen etwas. Nichts ist perfekt. Vor allem wenn ein Programm wie Wii Fit Pionierarbeit geleistet hat. Sehr effektive Übungen. Sehr niedlich und motivierend aufgemacht. Dieses Programm ist einfach revolutionär mit mächtigen Spaßfaktor !! Also ich kann das Wii Balance Board nur empfehlen, es macht ne Menge fun damit zu trainieren und es ist auf jeden Fall Effektiv hatte am ersten Tag hammer Muskelkater in Muskel, von denen ich bis dahin gar nicht wußte das ich sie überhaupt besitze:) Kann das Wii Balanceboard nur empfehlen. Allerdings ist es kein Wundergerät und auch kein Fitnesstudio aber als Ergänzung super geeignet...... Ich hab die Wii Fit gekauft und es funtioniert. Gut die Trainingsmöglichkeiten sind nicht gerade mein fall, aber die Minigames sind wirklich lustig. Was das Training betrifft, ich wollte sowieso abnehmen und habe meine Ernährung umgestellt, zusätzlich trainiere ich noch so(also ohne Wii Fit), was ich jedoch mache ist der tägliche Körpercheck mit der Wii und hier finde ich die Wii sehr hilfreich, man kann sich Ziele setzten zu einem bestimmten Termin und erhält Grafiken über seinen BMI(da kann man darüber Streiten ob das so sinnvoll ist) alsauch über seinen Gewichtsverlust, was mir zur Kontrolle und Motivation sehr geholfen hat.
